Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a press conference marking the completion of the Modi government's first 100 days in its third term. Shah emphasized the significant relief provided to the middle class, particularly highlighting the tax exemption on income up to ₹7 lakh. He also discussed the implementation of the third edition of One Rank One Pension (OROP), benefiting military personnel and veterans. Focusing on housing development, Shah announced that 3 crore houses have been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Of these, 1 crore homes will be constructed in urban areas, while 2 crore will be built in rural regions, further boosting India's housing infrastructure. Shah also highlighted the success of the 'PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana,' which has enabled over 2.5 lakh households to install solar energy systems between June and August 2024. This initiative promotes clean energy adoption and helps reduce electricity costs, aligning with the government's broader environmental and economic goals.
