Bengal witnessed high drama as BJP leaders and workers took to the streets, escalating protests against the Mamata Banerjee government. Following violent clashes outside the secretariat, the BJP called for a 12-hour bandh, which saw widespread unrest across the state. Top BJP leaders were detained by the police as they led demonstrations against the state administration, accusing it of dictatorship and silencing dissent. Protesters blocked major roads like Tala Bridge in Kolkata, burned tyres and cartons, and attempted to shut down Shyambazar metro station before being apprehended. The protests extended to railways, with disruptions in Murshidabad, Berhampore, Hooghly, and other districts.
