The Delhi cabinet has approved the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, a key BJP poll promise, providing financial assistance of 2,500 rupees per month to women from poor families. The scheme has a budget of 5,100 crore rupees for the year. A 4-member panel will oversee the rollout, and the portal for registration will be launched soon. The Aam Aadmi Party criticised the scheme, calling it a 'Jhumla'. The beneficiary must not hold a government job and her annual income should be less than ₹3,00,000.
