Rekha Gupta was named as the new Delhi Chief Minister by the BJP on Wednesday evening after an 11-day suspense. She will take oath as Delhi’s new Chief Minister at Ramlila Maidan. In an exclusive interview with the India Today Group, the Delhi Chief Minister designate said that her taking oath reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of women empowerment. Choosing a middle-class woman for such a significant role is a big decision, and I deeply thank the top leadership for their trust in me. They have given me this immense responsibility, and I am committed to fulfilling it with dedication”, Gupta said, adding “With the guidance of the Prime Minister, all 48 BJP MLAs in Delhi will work relentlessly to fulfill our commitments and bring real change to the people of Delhi.”
