Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a “piece of information” with philanthropist and Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates “ahead of his planned visit” to the iconic Statue of Unity in Gujarat. The world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel was built on the banks of the Narmada River in 2018 after five years of ornate craftsmanship and marvel engineering. In a free-wheeling interaction on Friday, PM Modi shared some interesting facts with Gates about the Statue of Unity. “I heard you are visiting Gujarat and are planning to see the Statue of Unity. Since you are going there, have you read about it?” PM Modi asked Gates during their conversation. Answering the PM Modi, Gates said: “I am very much looking forward to that. I understand that it’s quite grand, much bigger than the Statue of Liberty. That will be fun to see. And also to meet some of the women’s groups there; how they have gotten involved in tourism and see all the work that they do.”
