The coastal state of Goa is embroiled in a massive 'Cash-for-Jobs' scam, leaving citizens shocked and angry. Dozens of people were duped of crores of rupees in exchange for false promises of government jobs. Police have so far registered 30 cases and arrested over 30 individuals linked to the scam. The scandal has put the ruling BJP on the defensive as names of several party functionaries and their associates have surfaced during the investigation. Opposition parties are demanding a judicial probe and questioning Chief Minister Pramod Sawant's role in the matter. Goa Forward Party leader Vijay Sardesai has alleged ministerial involvement and called for an impartial investigation. Amid these developments, CM Pramod Sawant stated that no one has been given a clean chit yet. With unemployment in Goa at 13.7%, one of the highest in India, the controversy has further fueled concerns about job opportunities for the state’s youth. The opposition has intensified its attacks, with protests and public outcry growing louder each day.
