Google, the tech giant we know today, celebrated its 25th birthday on September 27, 2023, marking a remarkable journey from its humble beginnings. Founded by two brilliant minds, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google originated as 'BackRub' in a Stanford University dorm room. It received its initial funding of $100,000 from Andy Bechtolsheim in 1998 and set up its first office in a Menlo Park garage. While Google's legacy began with its revolutionary search engine, it has since evolved into a global powerhouse with products like YouTube, Gmail, Android, and Google Maps. Google's influence expanded when it became Yahoo's default search engine in 2000, and it laid the foundation for online advertising with AdWords in October 2000. Over the years, Google has continually innovated, entering mobile with Android in 2005 and online video with the acquisition of YouTube in 2006. It went public in August 2004 and introduced universal search in 2007. In 2008, Google unveiled the T-Mobile G1, its first Android phone, and created Alphabet as its parent company, with Sundar Pichai taking the reins as Google's CEO.
