Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Alphabet, has been awarded a whopping $226 million as compensation in 2022. While most of it is stock award, the decision has still come in for huge criticism with the company having announced big layoffs in January. Meanwhile, in India, the average CEO salary is seen rising just over 6% this year.
