Parts of India have experienced much-needed relief from scorching heat as heavy rains lashed several regions. However, in Himachal Pradesh, the downpour has resulted in widespread flooding, causing significant damage and disruption. In the Kullu district, vehicles were swept away by the torrential waters, forming a chaotic pile-up. The devastating floods have left many vehicles beyond repair, adding to the already extensive destruction. To ensure public safety, the authorities have closed National Highway 3 in Mandi due to the flash flood situation. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a flash flood risk warning for Himachal Pradesh, particularly highlighting moderate to high risk in popular tourist destinations such as Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Shimla, Sirmaur, and Mandi districts.
