A mega push towards green energy North India's biggest floating solar power project, the solar unit in Chandigarh, was built on Dhanas Lake. It will not only lower the carbon footprint and evaporation rate but also help generate at least 35 lakh units of solar energy every year. Authorities say 70% of the revenue generated from the floating solar plant will go to the government, and the rest will be given to the Municipal Corporation.
