Cash-strapped Pakistan, which is in dire need of funds to tide them over a worsening economic crisis, has received assistance from the IMF in the past. It is currently in discussions with the organisation to resume its loan programme. A resumption of the said loan relief will unlock other avenues of funding for the country. Speaking ahead of the G20 FMCBG meeting, in an interview with PTI, she added that significant progress has been made in the talks held with Pakistan. Going forward, she expects a firm policy framework from the country.
