India celebrated its 76th Republic Day with grandeur and pride, beginning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying homage to fallen soldiers at the National War Memorial in Delhi. In a touching moment, the Prime Minister was seen picking up litter from the Kartavya Path, earning viral praise for his dedication to leading by example. The Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, graced the event as the Chief Guest, strengthening India’s ties with Southeast Asia. The President of India unfurled the national flag, followed by the national anthem and a 21-gun salute. The parade, led by Lt Gen Bhavnish Kumar and his son Lt Ahaan Kumar in a rare father-son moment, showcased India’s military prowess and cultural diversity. The parade featured 31 tableaux from 16 states, Union Territories, and Central Government departments, along with a tri-services joint tableau symbolizing unity in the armed forces. DRDO’s “Raksha Kavach” tableau highlighted multi-layered protection against modern threats. A 352-member marching contingent from Indonesia and performances by 5,000 artists delighted 10,000 special guests, reflecting India's cultural richness and increasing citizen participation.
