India's Consumption Survey Findings Released By NSSO: Poverty In India Down To 5%

The Government of India has released the consumption expenditure survey after a gap of 10 years. The study shows a steady increase in both rural and urban average monthly household expenditure. NITI Aayog CEO B V R Subrahmanyam has cited the survey to suggest that poverty in India might have decreased to just 5%. Here is a report.
