The political rivalry between Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Reddy and former CM Chandrababu Naidu, rooted in decades of history since Jagan's father, YS Rajasekhar Reddy, unseated Naidu, is reignited in the current elections. Jagan is relying on welfare schemes to secure a second term, while Naidu promises double-engine growth for the state. The India Today Axis My India study highlights a gender divide, with the Naidu-led NDA holding a 13-point lead among male voters, while female voter support is nearly equal. Naidu's alliance with the BJP and film star Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party has boosted his campaign. With significant support from OBCs, Yadavs, Kapus, Kammas, and upper castes, and a clear majority predicted by exit polls, Naidu appears poised to win against Jagan, who had Naidu jailed on corruption charges months before the elections.
