Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut, now a Lok Sabha hopeful fielded by the BJP from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi, faced a barrage of vulgar and sexist attacks online. Congress leaders, including social media head Supriya Shrinate, were involved in circulating objectionable content targeting Kangana and her birthplace, Mandi. Shrinate later clarified that the post was shared by someone with access to her social media accounts. Kangana condemned the Congress for displaying a sexist and anti-women mindset in response to the remarks. BJP leaders, including Union Minister Smriti Irani, rallied in support of Kangana, criticizing the Congress and demanding action against Shrinate. The incident sparked outrage on social media, with BJP accusing the opposition of moral bankruptcy and calling for Shrinate's expulsion.
