Leadership Through Eco Challenges Earns RBI Governor An ‘A+’ Grade From Global Publication

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das earned an ‘A+’ grade in Central Bank Report Cards 2024 ranking for a second consecutive year. The top awards given by Global Finance magazine of the US, was presented to the Governor in Washington DC. The citation commended the Governor for reining in inflation while keeping the pace of economic growth intact. “Das presides over an ever-strengthening domestic financial system, with robust capital adequacy, low levels of non-performing assets and solid profitability at the banks and non-bank financial companies (NBFCs)”, Global Finance said, adding, “This system is anchored in an improving governance ecosystem focused on risk management and internal controls under the umbrella of ESG-focused structures.”
