Modi-Macron Summit: India Seals ₹90,000 Cr Rafale M & Submarine Deal

India is set to boost its naval power with a massive ₹90,000-crore defence deal with France! As PM Narendra Modi meets President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, the Indian Navy is gearing up to acquire 26 Rafale M fighter jets and 3 more Scorpene-class submarines, further strengthening its maritime capabilities. The Rafale M, which are the naval version of the aircraft, will replace the aging MiG-29Ks and are designed for carrier operations from INS Vikrant & INS Vikramaditya. The Scorpene-Class Submarine order will follow the 6 Kalvari-class already in service and will ensure continued production at Mumbai’s Mazagon Dock. But that’s not all. France is also eyeing India’s Pinaka rocket system, signalling a shift where India could soon become a defence exporter to France. With the final contract set to be signed in April during the French Defence Minister’s visit to India, this deal marks a new era in India-France military cooperation.
