Narendra Modi Sworn In For Historic Third Term As Prime Minister Amid Ceremony At Rashtrapati Bhavan

Narendra Damodardas Modi took the oath as the Prime Minister of India at the magnificent forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, which looked even grander under the setting sun. As President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath on Sunday evening, Modi's supporters loudly applauded. Modi has made history as the second leader after Jawaharlal Nehru to secure a third consecutive term. The Prime Minister has chosen a team rich in experience, with seniormost party leaders Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, J.P. Nadda, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan being the first to be sworn in. Nirmala Sitharaman and S. Jaishankar followed, ensuring continuity in the core team. In total, 72 ministers took the oath, including 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 Ministers of State with Independent Charge, and 36 Ministers of State, with 11 from BJP's allies in the NDA. The principal opposition party, the Congress, participated in the ceremony, and prominent leaders like Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar were seated in the front row, indicating their significance in the new government. The event also saw world leaders from neighbouring countries, and notable Indian celebrities and industrialists, adding to the grandeur. Modi 3.0 begins on a new pitch, with a coalition government as the BJP does not hold a majority this time.
