He emphasized the growing domestic and export demand, with 30 lakh EV registrations and a 45% increase in sales in 2024. Gadkari noted the booming two-wheeler market (56% of total EV sales) and advancements in three-wheelers with 300+ models available. He discussed job creation, reduced EV operational costs, and a projected ₹4.16 lakh crore EV finance market by 2030. The minister announced significant reductions in lithium battery costs, increased lithium reserves in J&K, and ongoing research into alternate battery chemistries like sodium-ion and aluminum-air.
