Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Brunei on September 3-4, to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all existing sectors. This will be the first bilateral visit of an Indian prime minister to Brunei, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at his media briefing. The visit will also mark 40 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties between India and Brunei, he said. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to Brunei Darussalam, the focus will be on strengthening and advancing India-ASEAN relations under the Act East Policy. Indian High Commissioner Alok Amitabh Dimri emphasized that this visit aims to assess the current state of bilateral ties, consolidate existing bonds, and explore new avenues for cooperation. As a signature initiative of PM Modi, the Act East Policy continues to drive India's engagement with ASEAN, deepening traditional ties and propelling the partnership forward.
