Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Manu Bhaker for her Paris Olympics Bronze medal win in the women's 10m air pistol over a phone call, where he also praised the 22-year-old for staging a comeback after her loss in all events at the Tokyo Olympics 2021. Manu Bhaker’s victory marks a historic moment as she becomes the first Indian woman to win a shooting medal at the Olympic Games. She also became only the fifth shooter and joins an elite group of Indian shooters, including Abhinav Bindra, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Vijay Kumar, and Gagan Narang, who have also secured Olympic medals in shooting.
