Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has acknowledged the existence of 'railway politics' while highlighting significant achievements under the PM Gati Shakti initiative. In his statement, Vaishnaw detailed that 2,500 general train coaches are currently being manufactured as part of a special drive, with approval granted for an additional 10,000 general coaches. Addressing the summer travel surge, he noted that the Railways operated over 10,000 special trains to accommodate increased demand. The minister emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance services, safety, and cleanliness, and reported that the manufacturing of 50 Amrit Bharat trains is underway, with plans to produce 150 more. Furthermore, last year saw the addition of 5,300 kilometers of new tracks, and this year, over 800 kilometers have already been laid.
