At the Raisina Dialogue 2025 in Delhi, during the session 'Thrones and Thorns: Defending the Integrity of Nations,' External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of maintaining a global order. He stated that disorder benefits not just big nations but also smaller countries that take extreme positions and test the system. Referring to India’s neighborhood, he remarked that even small nations can be disruptive. Jaishankar also criticized the old international order, arguing that its virtues were exaggerated because the rule-makers and rule-takers had different perspectives. He highlighted the selective application of global rules based on convenience and national interests, questioning the fairness of the existing system. His remarks underline India's call for a more balanced and just international framework.
