The Karnataka gold smuggling scandal is getting bigger as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) launches an investigation after the CBI and DRI. ED officials raided actor Ranya Rao’s Bengaluru residence amid allegations of gold smuggling. During interrogation, Ranya claimed she received calls from a foreign number with an African-American accent and was instructed to collect and deliver gold from Dubai to Bengaluru. She allegedly used crepe bandages and tissues to hide 17 gold bars weighing 14 kg. The case took a political turn after reports surfaced that her stepfather, senior police officer DGP Ramachandra Rao, allegedly facilitated her movement at the airport. With a multi-agency probe underway, authorities are now focusing on tracking down the mastermind behind the smuggling network.
