Delhi has a new Chief Minister. Rekha Gupta took the oath of office at a grand ceremony at Ramlila Maidan, marking the BJP’s return to power in the capital after 27 years. She is the fourth woman to hold the top post in Delhi. Alongside her, six key ministers were sworn in, including Parvesh Verma, who defeated Arvind Kejriwal, Sikh leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Purvanchli representatives Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Singh. The event turned into a massive show of strength for the NDA, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and NDA chief ministers. The presence of prominent women leaders, including Bansuri Swaraj and Diya Kumari, signalled the party’s emphasis on women’s empowerment. Team Rekha has already set its agenda, vowing to expose corruption under the previous AAP government.
