External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar inaugurated the e-Migrate V2.0 web portal and mobile app, aimed at enhancing immigration services and expanding outreach. The portal features a feedback system and integrates with CSCs (Common Service Centres), an SPV under the Ministry of Electronics and IT. With over 5.6 lakh CSCs spread across India, these centres will now deliver immigration-related services in regional languages, aligning with ease of living goals. The portal is integrated with DigiLocker, enabling immigrants to securely store and submit documents for approvals, marking a significant step in digital transformation. Additionally, efforts are underway to broaden the social security net for migrants through insurance policies and digital payment services in partnership with the State Bank of India, with zero transaction fees. The minister emphasized the development of a first-ever mobile app for e-Migrate, promoting a seamless, user-friendly experience. Jaishankar called for the platform to foster mutually beneficial partnerships, facilitating safe, legal, and orderly migration while offering Indian talent access to global employment opportunities.
