At the CII Partnership Summit 2024, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar emphasized the strategic transformation reshaping global dynamics. He highlighted a decade-long backlash against the current globalization model, driven by stagnating quality of life and external dependencies. The Covid pandemic exposed vulnerabilities, while economic rebalancing gained strategic significance, with surpluses translating into influence. He noted the growing impact of U.S.-China tensions and the Ukraine conflict, which have fueled insecurities in food, fuel, and fertilizers. The Global South faces inflation, debt, and trade volatility, making the world increasingly challenging. "Tough situations call for more friends and partners," Jaishankar remarked, underlining the need for collaboration.
