Shaktikanta Das Bids Goodbye To RBI After 6 Years As Governor, Sanjay Malhotra Takes Over

Outgoing RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das received a heartfelt farewell from RBI staff as his six-year tenure came to an end. In an emotional address, he expressed gratitude to ‘Team RBI,’ highlighting their collective efforts in navigating unprecedented global challenges. Das also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his guidance and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for fostering effective fiscal-monetary coordination. He fondly recalled the trust and confidence placed in him by the late Arun Jaitley during his early days as RBI Governor and earlier as Secretary of Revenue and Economic Affairs. Das left the RBI headquarters alongside his wife, Lopa Mudra Das, after sharing a final moment with the staff. Sanjay Malhotra has officially taken charge as the 26th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.
