India’s space exploration takes a leap forward as ISRO successfully launches PSLV-C60 carrying the SpaDeX mission and 24 payloads from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The rocket, towering 44.5 meters, lifted off at 10:00:15 PM IST On 30 December, marking a significant milestone in India’s pursuit of its own space station. The SpaDeX mission is pivotal, featuring two 220-kg spacecraft designed to demonstrate in-space docking—a critical step toward satellite servicing and interplanetary missions. This achievement propels India into an elite group of four nations with space docking capabilities, made possible by the indigenous 'Bharatiya Docking System.' This mission lays the foundation for ISRO’s ambitious plan to establish a space station by 2035, solidifying India’s position in global space exploration. ISRO Chairman S. Somanath highlighted the mission’s role in upcoming projects, including Chandrayaan-4 and other groundbreaking ventures planned for 2025.
