The battle between Tamil Nadu and the Centre over the delimitation exercise is intensifying. Chief Minister MK Stalin has called for an all-party meeting to oppose the move, warning that Tamil Nadu could lose eight parliamentary seats. The BJP, however, has boycotted the meeting, accusing the DMK of spreading misinformation. While Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured that Tamil Nadu’s seats won’t be reduced, the DMK remains unconvinced. Stalin has called for a united front of southern states against the Centre’s proposed changes, with Congress backing his claims. The ruling DMK is now demanding a written assurance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. The BJP, on the other hand, insists that the Stalin-led government is misleading the public. Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has strongly countered the DMK’s claims, setting the stage for a major political showdown.
