The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has called on YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to clarify his alleged involvement in bribery charges linked to the Adani Group's indictment by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).According to the SEC, Gautam Adani reportedly met Jagan Mohan Reddy in August 2021 to discuss an agreement for supplying 7000 MW of power to Andhra Pradesh. TDP leader Anam Venkataramana Reddy alleged that bribes were paid to facilitate the agreement, claiming that the bribe amount for Andhra Pradesh exceeded that of Odisha. He further accused Jagan of expediting power purchase agreements (PPAs) at inflated rates, impacting the state’s distribution companies (DISCOMs) adversely. Reddy stated, "Once the bribe amount was finalized, the file moved swiftly. No other state bought power at such high rates; it’s only due to bribes that the agreements were closed at record speed." The TDP is now demanding transparency and accountability from Jagan Mohan Reddy regarding these allegations.
