The India Today Group Founder And Editor-In-Chief Honoured At AIMA Annual Meet

Aroon Purie, Founder Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, of The India Today Group was felicitated with the Managing India Award for Lifetime Contribution to Media at the 50th AIMA National Management Convention. A Padma Bhushan recipient, Mr. Purie heads India’s most respected and diversified media conglomerate and is a pioneer of 24x7 video news, FM radio, and digital media. The award citation described Aroon Purie as a pioneering media entrepreneur, a fearless editor, and a benchmark for publishing standards who has led many transformations in Indian news media over the past half-century. It went on to say that Mr. Purie is a man with a keen sense of observation and an ear to the ground who has always been quick to respond to and anticipate evolving needs and trends. The AIMA award citation said that Mr. Purie transformed magazine journalism with many innovations and endeavoured to uphold the gold standard of journalism in all media ventures.
