During the first ten months of this fiscal year, toll collection in India surged to Rs 53,289.41 crore, propelled by a significant rise in tolled roads and the continuous influx of new FASTag users annually. With an average monthly collection of Rs 5328.9 crore from April to January, government data suggests that toll collection for FY24 is on track to reach a historic high of Rs 62,000 crore. Transaction volumes also saw a substantial increase, with the number of transactions rising to 3.4 billion in 2022-23 from 0.582 billion in 2019-20. As of January 2024, transactions for 2023-24 totaled 3.1 billion.
