The controversy surrounding the Tirupati Laddu Prasadam has intensified following remarks from Shamala Rao, the Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). Rao emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality of the sacred laddu, traditionally offered to Lord Venkateswara Swamy. Upon taking office, she discovered concerns raised by the Chief Minister regarding the quality of the ghee used in the prasadam. Rao stated, "Any deviation in quality will cause 'apavithram,' compromising the sanctity of the temple."
