ArcelorMittal's Chairman, Lakshmi Mittal, emphasized the importance of the Hazira expansion during his address at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. This significant project, inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in 2021, is set for an ambitious timeline. Lakshmi Mittal anticipates the completion of phase one by 2026, and the second phase, marked by a substantial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing, is projected to finalize by 2029. This expansion aims to establish the facility as the world's largest steel plant, boasting an impressive production capacity of 24 million tons.
