In his address at the UN General Assembly, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar emphasized the need for hope and optimism in today's challenging global landscape. Highlighting India's remarkable achievements, including its moon landing, development of a 5G stack, global vaccine distribution, fintech innovations, and hosting numerous global capability centres, he stressed that these milestones carry a powerful message. Dr. Jaishankar reaffirmed India's commitment to a "Viksit Bharat", while critiquing the unfairness of the current globalization model, which has led to overconcentration of production, hollowing out many economies and affecting employment and social stability. He called for a more equitable and inclusive global order.
