A major food safety crackdown has hit Bengaluru and Mumbai, exposing severe health violations across high-end 5-star hotels, government canteens, and major international fast-food outlets. Raids conducted at Vidhana Soudha, Hotel Sky, Domino’s, and Pizza Hut uncovered cockroach infestations, fungal produce, expired ingredients, and improper meat storage. Food safety authorities seized over one tonne of unsafe food and suspended multiple operating licenses under strict state campaigns. Officials emphasize that hygiene rules apply equally to luxury establishments and government canteens alike, warning that surprise inspections and legal enforcement will continue indefinitely across both major metropolitan hubs.
