A viral video from the Opposition’s protest march in New Delhi against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has triggered a political row over Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. The footage appears to show Gandhi pulling Shivakumar back amid a crowded march, while another clip shows Gandhi jostling with party workers. The BJP has accused Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting Shivakumar and insulting Kannadiga pride. Shivakumar, however, has denied that Gandhi pushed or humiliated him, saying Gandhi was concerned about him amid the crowd. Congress leaders have rejected the criticism, describing the incident as chaotic crowd movement during the protest. The controversy has added a fresh political flashpoint to the Opposition’s campaign demanding accountability from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral-roll irregularities.
