Extending its losses for the fourth session in a row, telecom giant Bharti Airtel on Tuesday
plunged 1.24 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange, ahead of its third quarter earnings to be announced on Wednesday.
Shares of Bharti resumed trading on an upbeat note, but the fag-end buying amid a weak broader market saw the counter shedding 1.24 per cent to close at Rs 314.60 on BSE.
The scrip has plummeted 6.6 per cent in the last four trading sessions. The shares witnessed a similar trend on the National Stock Exchange and declined 2.66 per cent to close at Rs 310.50.
Analysts feel the company's December quarter earnings should meet the street expectations and the fall in the counter is just in line with the weakness in the broader gauge Sensex, which tumbled 305.54 points to close at 18,022.22.
