Wockhardt Ltd on Wednesday said it returned to black in the third quarter that ended December 31, posting a consolidated net profit of Rs 141.67 crore.
The company had a loss of Rs 181.23 crore in the same period previous financial year, Wockhardt Ltd said in a statement.
Net sales stood at Rs 950.80 crore in Q3, while the same was Rs 889.33 crore in the same period last financial year, it added.
"Our operations remain strong and have consistently shown growth in EBIDTA and EBIDTA margins during the current year," Wockhardt Chairman
Habil Khorakiwala said.
The company's branded business in India grew by 18 per cent in October-December 2010 over the corresponding period of 2009. Its generics business grew by 20 per cent.
Wockhardt said its business in the US clocked a robust 87 per cent growth in the third quarter.
