(Photo: Associated Press) Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will present the Rail Budget for fiscal year 2015-16 in Parliament on Thursday.
This will be the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government's first full-fledged Railway Budget.
People have high expectations from Prabhu and are expecting clean energy, modernisation of trains, passengers' safety and rail connectivity in the north-eastern states among others this time.
The Railways had earlier invited suggestions from the general public for the same.
The tourism industry also expects the Budget to focus on developing better infrastructure, provide good sanitation at tourist spots and offer tax exemptions.
