
The 16th legislative assembly election of Tamil Nadu is scheduled to be held on April 6, 2021. He is also under pressure to reinvigorate DMK that has been out of power in the state for a decade.

Before that, she appointed Edappadi K Palaniswami as the legislative party leader (chief minister).
