
Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday tweeted that toll suspension is extended till 2nd December midnight across all National Highways.
The move comes amid growing speculation that the government may extend use of demonetised currency at public utilities for a few more days.
Sufficient swipe machines will be installed at toll plazas with help from SBI and other banks to ease the impact of cash crunch on national highways, PTI reported.
Scrapped Rs 500 notes will be accepted at toll plazas on National Highways from December 2 mid-night to December 15, the report said.
