In pics: International Yoga Day 2017

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the country-wide celebration marking the third International Day of Yoga in Lucknow, where an estimated 55,000 enthusiasts, including UP Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were present.

Yoga, which connects body, mind and soul, has played a big role in connecting the world too, said PM Narendra Modi, addressing the gathering in Lucknow. He added that wellness is more important than simply physical fitness.

Brimming with excitement and energy, Delhiites gathered in large numbers at various parks and public squares across the city today to celebrate Yoga day, even as pre-dawn showers played a bit of a spoilsport.

The streets of Connuaght Place's Inner Circle saw, both, old and young, dressed in colourful attire to participating in the Yoga day that has been recognised by the United Nations in 2014.

NDA's Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind was also present.

Union ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Vijay Goel, Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also took part in the celebrations.
