Children's activist Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistani child activist Malala Yousafzai have jointly won the 2014 Nobel peace Prize. The award ceremony will take place in Oslo on December 10.
Kailash Satyarthi hails from Bhopal. He gave up his career as an electrical engineer over three decades ago to start Bachpan Bachao Andolan, or Save the Childhood Movement. Today his NGO is leading the fight against all kinds of child exploitations.
"It's an honour to all those children still suffering in slavery, bonded labour and trafficking", Satyarthi said.
Pakistani child activist Malala Yousafzai has become the youngest person to win the Nobel Prize so far. Malala was attacked by Taliban in 2012 as a punishment for supporting girls' education in Pakistan.
After recovering from the attack, Malala has continued to campaign for girls' education, speaking before the UN, meeting Barack Obama, being named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people and last year publishing the memoir I am Malala.
