Jet Airways jumps into fare war, offers tickets starting Rs 1,499

Jet Airways has become the latest airline to jump onto the 'discounted fares' bandwagon. India's second largest airline, both in terms of passengers and market share, has announced its 'Monsoon Sale', offering tickets starting Rs 1,499 on select routes.

As part of the scheme, fliers can buy tickets on Delhi-Lucknow route for Rs 1,499, Delhi-Mumbai for Rs 2,199 and Delhi-Kolkata for Rs 2,999.

According to the promotion mailers of MakeMyTrip, Jet Airways' Monsoon Sale offer is valid for a travel period between July 20, 2015 and October 15, 2015. The bookings can be made between July 8 and July 13.

The airline is also offering discounts on its international flights to London, Toronto and some Gulf countries, among others.

Budget-carrier SpiceJet had earlier this week launched a discount scheme offering tickets for Rs 1,899 on select routes.
