Reliance Power on Monday reported a 7.45 per cent increase in net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, to Rs 143.61 crore.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 133.65 crore for the same period last fiscal, Reliance Power said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Total income of the company rose to Rs 355.13 crore in the October-December quarter from Rs 179.16 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, it added.
Shares of the company surged by 3.65 per cent in early trade on the BSE to touch a high of Rs 119.05.
