Delhi Metro reduces fares on Airport Express line by 40%

Delhi Metro reduces fares on Airport Express line by 40%

As per the revised fare structure, a minimum single journey on the corridor would cost Rs 20, replacing the earlier minimum fare of Rs 30, while the maximum fare will be Rs 100 against the earlier fare of Rs 180.

In its bid to provide greater convenience to commuters, the Delhi Metro on Thursday announced a reduction in fares by up to 40 percent on its Airport Express line.

The revised fares will be applicable from July 24.

The line connects Dwarka Sector 21 in West Delhi to New Delhi Railway Station via Dhaula Kuan.

As per the revised fare structure, a minimum single journey on the corridor would cost Rs 20, replacing the earlier minimum fare of Rs 30, while the maximum fare will be Rs 100 against the earlier fare of Rs.180.

"Therefore, a one-way journey from the New Delhi station to Dwarka Sector 21 using a single journey token will now cost only Rs 100," said a Delhi Metro statement.

Delhi Metro will also offer further discounts on the purchase of multiple journey cards. The rates will be further lowered for commuters making 30 trips, 45 trips and 60 trips.

In case of 60-trip cards, the minimum and maximum one-way fares will further come down to less than none and 40 percent, respectively.

Delhi Metro took over the operation of the Airport Express Line July 1, 2013.
