Infosys, the global software services major, on Monday announced that it had bagged a five-year deal to transform IT applications of Dutch logistics major TNT.
"Global express delivery firm TNT has selected us as its technology partner for application development and maintenance services," Infosys said.
TNT has decided to transform its IT infrastructure to reduce complexity, cost and increase flexibility by revamping its IT applications and building new systems for seamless customer experience.
"We will deploy digital technologies to improve TNT's engagement with customers, especially small and medium enterprises," said Karmesh Vaswani, Infosys head for retail and logistics in Europe.
The IT services major will also consolidate and standardise TNT's IT applications for higher service quality and lower cost of operations.
"As TNT's IT transformation roadmap resonates with our renew-new strategy, we will help it to switch over to the next-generation SaaS (software as a service) and cloud-based digital technologies that are customer friendly, cost effective and flexible," Vaswani added.
As one of the world's largest express delivery firms, the US $7.5-billion worth TNT delivers one-million consignments using road and air transportation networks across Europe, West Asia, Africa, Asia Pacific and US.
