Led by country's largest telecom player
Bharti Airtel, GSM operators added 4.64 million new subscribers in June taking their total user base to 677.35 million, according to data released by industry body COAI.
Bharti Airtel, which has a market share of 27.65 per cent, added 2 million users in June to take its total subscriber base to 187.30 million, the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) today said.
Country's third largest operator Vodafone India added 1.22 million customers in June, taking its subscriber base to 153.70 million. The operator has a market share of 22.69 per cent as on June 30, 2012.
Aditya Birla group firm
Idea Cellular , with a market share of 17.30 per cent, added 1.19 million new subscribers during the month. It now has subscriber base of 117.16 million.
Uninor, one of the telecom operators whose 2G licences have been cancelled by the Supreme Court (SC), added 0.50 million new customers in June, taking its user base to 45.57 million.
Videocon, another player whose licences have also been cancelled, lost 0.66 million users during the month. The user base of Videocon stands at 5.57 million.
